Georgia Transparency has reviewed evidence involving the YouTube channel GESwag, which appears to be owned and operated by Gaston James Golding of Mount Airy, North Carolina.

The concern centers on repeated public statements made under the name GESwag, including accusations labeling individuals as “pedophiles” or “chomos.” These are not minor insults or casual disagreements. These are serious criminal accusations that can cause lasting reputational, personal, and professional harm when made publicly and repeatedly without lawful findings or verified proof.

Public records and prior reporting also appear to connect Gaston James Golden to Gaston Ruben Golding, a 78-year-old man who was shot by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly pointing a shotgun at deputies.

Gaston James Golding, using the handle GESwag, has appeared on multiple YouTube channels and has published content on his own channel where he repeatedly makes serious allegations against others. In addition to labeling people with criminal and sexually charged terms, Golden has also posted videos referencing physical confrontations and waiting to engage in fights with others.

Golden has further claimed on his YouTube channel that someone was posting underage children and has accused other YouTubers of involvement in that conduct. Georgia Transparency has preserved evidence, screenshots, and video captures related to these statements.

The question now becomes simple: at what point does online commentary stop being opinion and become targeted defamation, harassment, or reckless public accusation?

Georgia Transparency will continue reviewing the evidence and documenting the public statements made by GESwag and those associated with this conduct.
